Head Coach - Steve Leeper
Coach Leeper has been a coach for several teams including JL Squids and the Lifetime USA Team. He began coaching at Herriman in 2022.
Coach Leeper started competitive swimming quite young at “The Fort” and “EAT” following his older sisters’ examples. He swam for Skyline High School where he was a member of state championship swim and water polo teams and served as captain his senior year. He also swam for the University of Utah where he was named athlete of the month until ultimately transferring to Brigham Young University where he graduated from the school’s MAcc program.
Steve started instructing swimmers at age 16 in the valley’s country club league for Snowbird Canyon Racquet club, ultimately filling one of the club’s coaching roles until graduating from college. He later joined JL Sorenson’s Squids program in order to spend time with and coach his daughters. His girls growth in swimming lead to a coaching opportunity at Lifetime’s USA team until ultimately moving over to HAT in order to be more involved in the Herriman High School programs
