Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in high school sports, athletes must have a minimum of a 2.0 gpa and no F’s or Incomplete / No grades. To compete on the Varsity team, athletes are required to maintain a 3.0 GPA.
The following guidelines are required for full participation on the Herriman High Swim Team.
Pre-Participation & Tryout Registration:
All athletes must register with the online eligibility program: www.registermyathlete.com. This must be completed prior to trying out or working out with the swim team.

Post Tryout Registration
Follow the steps listed and complete the necessary requirements in order to compete this season and school year. All eligibility paperwork and receipts need to be turned into the coaching staff. HERE are the instructions for Registermyathlete and uploading paperwork.
Attendance
All athletes are expected to participate in every practice. There are no optional practices.
We understand that family and life issues come up and we want to be sensitive to these needs. IF you need to be excused from practice, please give the coach notice in writing prior to the day you will miss. Unexcused and frequent absences are not acceptable.
If you have to miss a practice please understand the following policy. There are no exceptions:
USA Swimming
USA Swimming is a great opportunity to get more swimming opportunities in. You cannot participate in a USA Swim Meet or Practice as an attached swimmer to a usa swim club. You may not miss any practice for a USA swim meet or practice. Herriman sponsors a USA Swim Club, but it is not required for athletes. It is however, encouraged for all athletes to participate with a USA Swim Team and participate in USA Swim Meets. These meets allow athletes to qualify for USA State and National events. Participation in these events are based on the needs of the individual swimmer for Senior State Championship qualification.
Conduct
All Herriman High School athletes and parents are to remember the importance of standards of conduct and procedures. By disregarding or violating the following items may result in expulsion from the team:

- Add Swimming to the sport you will be competing in for 2017-2018 Season.

Post Tryout Registration

- Physical (good for 1 year) HERE (these can be uploaded to registermyathlete)
- Copy of 1st quarter report card
- Receipt of fees (participation $75)
- Team Disclosure (you will e-sign on registermyathlete)

- If a swimmer has two unexcused absences, they are removed from the team.

- Disregarding any Herriman Aquatics policies
- Non-participation
- Not maintaining academic or GPA Standards
- An illegal act or being in a place where an illegal act is occurring.
- Possession, use, or distribution use of illegal drugs, improper use of prescription drugs, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, e-cigarettes, vaping or being in a place where underage use of these products is occurring.
- Being disrespectful towards the coaching staff, team members, peers, teachers, pool staff, or administration. Disrespect includes disruptive behaviors or influence, including: excessive public display of affection, hazing, use of crude or vulgar language deemed inappropriate by Herriman High School Staff.
- Inappropriate social media use, including: cyber bullying, inappropriate posting of items, comments, or photos (i.e. nudity, crude, or demeaning of others, swearing). Posting of comments about team mates, competitors, or Herriman High School in any inappropriate or negative way. (this includes parents).
- Suspension from school.
- Cheating or plagiarizing on assignments, tests, or projects at school
- Bullying in any form.
- Not adhering to school dress code after 2 violation citations.
- Not adhering to team dress code on pool deck or team activities
Please do not pay your participation fee until you have been declared a member of the team. Not all swimmers who tryout will make the team.
